On November 19, 2020, a new free Cyberpunk Flipper DLC was released. The latter requires the player to first complete the corresponding jobs.
This DLC features new jobs, items, gameplay-mechanics and properties that can be bought. On May 14, 2020, the HGTV DLC was released. The property can then be sold at a higher price depending on the score that was achieved. The player can then participate in the garden competitions where their work will be evaluated and given a score. This allows the player to apply renovations to the gardens of properties. On May 16, 2019, the Garden Flipper DLC was released. The player receives more items and 5 new properties that can be bought. Together with the base game, on May 17, 2018, a free Apocalypse Flipper DLC was released. House Flipper was also awarded Poznań Game Arena Best Polish Indie Game of 2018. The game was nominated for "Game, Simulation" at the National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers Awards.

PC Gamer was critical, stating that "There's a definite satisfaction in taking a gross room and making it look nice, and it's pretty cool that you can knock down (and rebuild) walls, but I just don't find the act of slowly and mechanically painting and cleaning much fun, especially with the knowledge that my actual house could do with a bit of that." It became a bestseller on Steam. Kotaku reviewed the game, stating that they found it satisfying to fix up homes that are "often extremely gross or ugly" and that "Manifesting your vision of a decent, sellable house onto these garbage heaps feels amazing-especially because it happens on such a granular scale." Game Informer was more mixed, writing that "Flipping your first few houses is fun, but the game doesn't have the scope or flexibility to stay interesting for long".

It's currently having a crack at Steam Greenlight.House Flipper received "mixed or average reviews" according to review aggregator Metacritic, with multiple reviewers commenting that fixing up the homes is satisfying while questioning its long-term playability. House Flipper is headed for a launch at the end of 2017 on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Renovating houses could be cast in several more-pleasant lights. Sure I've committed more virtual war crimes than I can count but, y'know, those were in games primarily about exploding faces. As someone who'll likely never be able to buy a flat let alone a house, thanks in part to those darling flippers, it seems an unpleasant premise for a game which doesn't need it. It is a shame that this fun-looking renovation is wrapping up inside a 'flipping' metagame - you're trying to buy cheap houses and do them up enough to sell them on at a profit to unlock more options. I mostly do my Visceral Cleanups with chums. I do hope developers Empyrean get co-op in there too, as the joys and terrors of teamwork and accidents could be great fun. I'm definitely up for fixing wiring, installing radiators, squeegeeing windows, and all that. Tasks like knocking down walls, fitting kitchens, and painting look a genuine treat, though sadly it seems to be singleplayer-only (and that 'flipping' premise is awful). I feel ready for House Flipper, a first-person renovator about smartening up homes by repairing, remodelling, painting, and decorating homes. I've mopped up blood and burned bodies but what do I have to show for it? A grubby office which my friends trash every time they visit. After the joys of cleaning up spaceguts in Visceral Cleanup Detail, I feel ready for something more constructive.
